FAIRFIELD — Fairfield University has been named one of LinkedIn’s Top Colleges in 2025 having placed in the Top 30. The list highlights institutions that best prepare graduates for long-term career growth through strong alumni networks, job placement, internships, and leadership advancement.
Fairfield, which ranked 28th, is the second-highest ranked institution in the state of Connecticut on this list, following only Yale University, which ranked 19th. Trinity College in Hartford was ranked 42nd.
This recognition underscores Fairfield’s mission to provide a transformative, outcomes-driven education that empowers students to thrive in an ever-changing workforce. LinkedIn’s ranking methodology is built on career outcomes of alumni, based on real-world data drawn from professional profiles and employment trends.
Fairfield’s placement in the Top 30 is supported by strong career outcomes from the Class of 2024. Of the 1,056 graduates, 878 provided information within six months of graduation. Among those respondents, 98% secured full-time professional employment, were accepted to graduate degree programs, or participated in volunteer service programs such as the Peace Corps or AmeriCorps.
LinkedIn’s Top Colleges 2025 ranking is based on aggregated data from its platform, assessing alumni outcomes across five equally weighted pillars:
- Job placement rates
- Internships/recruiter demand
- Career success such as C-suite or entrepreneurial roles
- Alumni network strength
- Breadth of knowledge in terms of fields of study and skills
The list includes only U.S.-based, accredited, four-year institutions.
