A Yorktown Heights beauty boutique is accusing a former client of extortion.
Korin & Nasdly Esthetic sued Clelin Caporuscio in Westchester Supreme Court on Sept. 15 over purported threats to sue the boutique for medical malpractice.
Korin & Nasdly specializes in skin care, according to an Instagram site, and offers services such as butt lifts, laser hair removal, facials, and massage.
Caporuscio, also known as Clelin Caporuscio-Duarte, is a resident of Guatemala, according to the complaint, who regularly traveled to Colombia for major cosmetic surgery and came to Korin & Nasdly for “light beauty treatments.”
Recently, the boutique received “suspicious” text messages about treatments their client had received abroad, the complaint states. Then on Aug. 15, a lawyer sent a letter threatening to sue the boutique.
Korin & Nasdly says no particular treatment or alleged injury has been specified.
The complaint states that the accusations amount to slander and to attempted extortion by falsely attributing medical malpractice suffered in another country.
Korin & Nasdly is asking the court to declare that Caporuscio slandered the beauty boutique in furtherance of an extortion, to prohibit slandering, and to award unspecified monetary damages.
Efforts to find an email address for Caporuscio, to ask for the defendant’s side of the story, were unsuccessful.
