Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace’s office recently organized a bake sale, which raised over $3,300 for the New Dawn Family Resource Center in North Salem.
The New Dawn Family Resource Center provides critical support and resources for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and trauma. The organization offers peer-to-peer survivor support, emergency resources and educational programs throughout northern Westchester. New Dawn’s rent is fiscally sponsored by the towns of North Salem, South Salem, Pound Ridge, Bedford and Somers. Organized in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month the bake sale proceeds were presented to the center at a brief ceremony.
Cacace said, “Surviving domestic violence is a continuous journey and victims of these crimes must know that there is someone there for them every step of the way. The New Dawn Family Resource Center helps provide survivors with the encouragement, resources and support they need to continue along their paths to recovery. I am so proud that we were able to raise these funds for such a deserving organization. My administration is working every day to bring justice to survivors and hold abusers accountable.”

Domestic violence can be isolating, especially in more rural areas, but this fundraiser reminds survivors that they are seen, believed and supported.
