President Barack Obama is scheduled to attend a pair of fundraisers in Fairfield County today, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Stamford Marriott and followed by dinner at the Westport home of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
In Quinnipiac University”™s most recent poll of Connecticut voters released in early June, Obama led Republican challenger Mitt Romney 50-38 percent, and 45-35 percent among independent voters. As of June, Obama had a 52-41 percent favorability rating among voters polled by Quinnipiac, with Romney getting a negative 34-42 percent favorability rating.
One of Obama”™s closest supporters in the local corporate world, Robert Wolf, is leaving his job chairing UBS AG”™s Americas operations to start his own advisory company called 32 Advisors. Wolf is a resident of Purchase, N.Y.
