Protegrity Corp. of Stamford, a provider of data security management solutions, said it has received a patent for a new way to secure databases.

The new, yet to be named, technology enables users to comply with data protection regulations and security practices with no impact on essential business processes, the company said. It delivers a continuous process for rotating encryption keys in relational databases, ensuring that initial encryption, real-time updates and on-demand key changes will occur according to a company”™s specifications and without having to take critical systems offline.
