Edward F. Murphy, the former chief financial officer and executive vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York”™s Corporate Group, has been appointed the first mentor in residence at Pace University”™s Lubin School of Business.
The school’s new mentor program will bring Lubin alumni who are senior executives in their fields to engage with students on campus. The first students to be mentored by Murphy individually and in small groups will be from Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals.
A 1974 Pace graduate, Murphy is a retired financial and audit executive with 40 years of global financial services, auditing and regulatory experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, JPMorgan Chase and Coopers & Lybrand. At JP Morgan, the certified public accountant served in several positions, including chief operating officer for the businesses conducted in the Asia Pacific region, for which he relocated to Tokyo. Following the merger of JP Morgan and Chase, Murphy served as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer of Chase”™s retail division.
He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in 2013.
