Bedford resident Joseph Abboud has announced his resignation as President and CEO of HMX Group, LLC, an apparel company based out of New York City.
Abboud, who had been in his position for three years, did not give a reason for his decision nor say where he was going next. HMX Group filed for bankruptcy in October, having assets of less than $50,000 and liabilities totaling $50 million.
The company, which announced it was laying off 71 employees, is being purchased by Authentic Brands Group.
“I believe we have all made a difference in the further development of this great company and its extraordinary iconic brands,” Abboud said in a letter to employees.
