
Craig Hyland, MSW, CFRE, has been appointed vice president of advancement and external relations at Manhattan University in Purchase, New York, bringing nearly two decades of experience in advancement and nonprofit management. A proven leader in fundraising, relationship-building, and team development in higher education, Hyland has consistently delivered extraordinary results.

As assistant vice president for development at Pomona College, Hyland led the office of development through the two highest fundraising years in the college’s history, raising $45 million out of a $110 million campaign. He tripled team fundraising in under three years and successfully raised multiple six- and seven-figure gifts, from nearly $20 million in solicitations. As associate vice president and executive director of development at Pace University, Hyland grew team fundraising by over 700%, from $2M million to $17 million annually, accounting for 75% of the university’s annual fundraising.
Hyland holds a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in nonprofit management and development from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Skidmore College. He is a certified fund-raising executive and has been an active volunteer with the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
In his new role, Hyland will be overseeing a division that includes advancement, alumni relations, communications, marketing, events and conference services.
