It also emphasizes Phelps Hospital’s unwavering commitment to innovation, health equity and addressing key challenges in maternal health.

U.S. News, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, evaluated 899 hospitals nationwide for its 2026 maternity care edition, awarding the top honor to only 55.1% of the facilities reviewed. It began evaluating maternity care hospitals in 2021 to help guide expectant parents in making informed decisions about the maternity services that best meet their family’s needs.
