CVS Health and ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists LLC have informed the state Department of Labor they will lay off a total of 143 employees, according to separate WARN notices.
CVS Health’s layoffs affect its 72 Aetna Medicare/Medicaid Program workers who work remotely outside of Connecticut, who are expected to lose their jobs starting Dec. 31. The layoffs are scheduled to take place between Dec. 31, 2025 and March 31, 2026, according to the notice that was also filed with Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam on Oct. 17. The action is being taken because Aetna lost its contract for 2026. Those employees work remotely into the company’s 151 Farmington Ave. facility in Hartford.
Of the 72 positions being eliminated, 44 are case managers.
Aetna has already gone through several waves of layoffs over the past year, shedding about 500 jobs.

Of the layoffs, 58 will be production associates.
