After issuing a ringing social media endorsement of Republican Congressman Mike Lawler for another term representing New York’s 17th Congressional District, President Donald Trump now is scheduled to make a personal appearance with Lawler in Rockland on May 22.
Details of where the event will take place had not been revealed by the White House as of May 19, which has prepared an online form allowing people to request up to two tickets to attend. According to the form, the event will begin at 3 p.m. in Rockland, with doors opening at noon. Lawler on social media distributed an online link to the ticket request form.

White House spokesperson Liz Huston had told the publication The Hill in a statement that Trump would focus his remarks on the economy and what she described as his strong record of making things more affordable for families.
Lawler’s district includes parts of Westchester and Dutchess and all of Rockland and Putnam. The Cook Political Report, which had last November said that the district was leaning Republican said in January that the seat was a tossup.
