Lawrence Hospital to open cardiac care lab

A new lab to help diagnose and treat heart conditions will open at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, with a dedication ceremony set for Wednesday.

The laboratory will be used for cardiac catheterizations”“ a procedure in which doctors use a tube to conduct tests and treatments on the heart ”“ and  is licensed to perform emergency cardiac angioplasties.

The center will be staffed by NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center physicians.
