Tolls on new Tappan Zee to nearly triple current prices

State transportation officials revealed cash tolls for drivers crossing the new Tappan Zee Bridge will likely be around $14, nearly triple the current cost.

The statements came at an Aug. 2 public meeting at Rockland Community College hosted by the New York State Thruway Authority.

Commuters will pay about $8.40 to cross the bridge, while vehicles with an E-ZPass will pay roughly $13.30.

Currently, the cash price is $5, while commuters pay $3 and E-ZPass users pay $4.75.
