The National Eye Institute has awarded a $425,000 grant to Burke Medical Research Institute.
The White Plains facility will use the federal money to study the cause of impaired blood flow control in the diabetic eye. The goal of diabetic retinopathy research is to find ways to prevent and treat vision loss.
The grant was announced by U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, who represents parts of Westchester and Rockland counties.
