Two Roads Brewing Company LLC of Stratford has completed the purchase it began in 2012 of the remaining land owned by the U.S. Baird Co. for its headquarters at  1700 Stratford Ave. with the acquisition of 2.58 acres of land for $550,000.
In 2012, for $2.85 million Two Roads purchased the remains of the industrial site where Baird formerly operated a machinery factory.
“When we saw the proud old U.S. Baird Building, we saw a beautiful symbol of America”™s past manufacturing might, and the opportunity to revitalize a great piece of history! Not to mention an ideal building for a brewery,” said Brad Hittle, a Greenwich resident and co-founder of Two Roads.
According to Jon Angel, president of Southport-based Angel Commercial LLC, which facilitated the purchase, the land will give Two Roads the ability to expand.
Clement Pellani, a Two Roads co-founder, said there are no specific plans for the new land other than to keep the brewery’s options open in the future.
