HARTFORD — The state Department of Consumer Protection has opened a public comment period proposed regulations for the adult-use cannabis and medical marijuana programs.
The adult-use cannabis program has been governed by formal policies and procedures since the inception of the program. The new regulations will combine existing regulations for the medical marijuana program to create a cohesive set of regulations. The language remaining in the palliative use of marijuana regulations is specific to medical regulation that does not overlap with the adult-use industry.
These proposed regulations will create clarity, stability and consistency in the regulation of the legal cannabis market. Information about the regulation process can be found on the Connecticut General Assembly’s website.
The text of the proposed Adult-Use Cannabis regulations and the Medical Marijuana regulations are posted to the state eRegulations Portal and opened for public comment Monday.
Members of the public may submit public comments through the state’s eRegulations system until Jan.10, 2025 at 5 p.m.
