Furniture retailer Design Within Reach reported $1.8 million in new equity funding, with plans to cap the round at $2.5 million.
DWR moved its headquarters to Stamford in 2010 from San Francisco.
The company recently ran a contest with Dwell magazine to challenge up-and-coming designers to create a home-office “solution” that DWR could potentially manufacture. The contest winner was an Oregon-based industrial designer featured for her minimalist work surface with storage wells.
