Shine On: A Night by the Sound

An Inspiring Evening of Unity, Resilience, and Jewish Life

The Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County is proud to announce Shine On: A Night by the Sound, a signature community celebration, Honoring Remarkable Leadership, taking place on Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025.

The evening will recognize two outstanding individuals:
– Alan Feldman, recipient of the Shari Levy Service Award, for his decades of leadership and lifelong dedication to Jewish communal life.
– Bryan Bierman, recipient of the A.O. Samuels Young Leadership Award, for his warmth, vision, and role as a rising leader in Jewish Fairfield County.

Featuring Julie Platt, Inspiring Voice for the Future of Jewish Life

Attendees will also hear from Julie Platt, Immediate Past Chair of The Jewish Federations of North America and recipient of Israel’s highest civilian honor, the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor. With decades of leadership at both national and grassroots levels, Platt will offer thoughtful, timely reflections on the future of the Jewish community in North America. 

As Jewish communities navigate an era of profound challenges and change, this event offers a meaningful opportunity to come together in strength, solidarity, and hope. Shine On will highlight the enduring values that bind us — resilience, unity, and commitment to Jewish life — locally and globally.

“This night is about celebrating the power of community,” said Joel F. Weiss, Executive Director of the Federation. “It’s also a moment to honor extraordinary leaders and inspire continued impact for generations to come.”

The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner and a program at 7:15 PM. Tickets are now on sale, and attendees are encouraged to purchase in advance to secure their place at this unforgettable evening.
