While a prior soft opening has already drawn crowds to the unassuming location on Norwalk’s Westport Avenue, OGGI (Officina Gelato Gusto Italiano) Gelato is hosting its grand opening today, June 7.
The location is the chain’s first in the United States, and is a result of a partnership with the Romanacci Restaurant Group, which operates a popular Italian restaurant next door.
From 4:30 to 6pm free tastings will be available during the grand opening celebration at 250 Westport Avenue.
Flavors are listed with their Italian names and can include several varieties of Chocolate, pistachio, tiramisu, and a wide variety of premium choices. Customers can choose between cups, cones, and decadent brioche buns.
“Opening Oggi Gelato in Norwalk is a dream come true for me, bringing authentic flavors of Italy right to my adopted neighborhood,” Carmelo Chiaramida, founder of Oggi Gelato told the Norwalk Hour. “The Romanacci Restaurant Group are dedicated to offering you an unforgettable experience with taste, just as if you were enjoying gelato in the heart of Italy.”
