The Sikorsky Credit Union has acquired the former TD Bank branch building at 1643 Post Road in Fairfield.
Sikorsky explains that a credit union has the same products and services a bank offers. However, credit unions are not-for-profit, member-owned financial institutions. It says that anyone who lives, works, worships, or volunteers in Fairfield, New Haven, or Hartford counties in Connecticut and their immediate family members can become members of the credit union.
The 2,709-square-foot building is at 1643 Post Road in Fairfield and was purchased for $2,600,000. Two vice presidents at the brokerage firm Choyce Peterson Inc., Scott Peterson and Charlene O’Connell handled the transaction on behalf of the seller Post Road Fairfield LLC. Choyce Peterson has offices in Norwalk and also in Rye Brook, New York.
The marketing campaign for the property highlighted the downtown location less than 1/4-mile from the Metro-North Rail Road station in Fairfield, the building’s dedicated parking, and the existing bank infrastructure.
Sikorsky Credit Union put out a statement saying, “We are thrilled to bring the Sikorsky Credit Union brand to Fairfield. From the moment we saw the property, we recognized its potential. Not only is it a prime retail location with a drive-up window and dedicated parking, but it also bridges the geographic gap between our Trumbull and Bridgeport branches. And because the building was already a bank, we can move more efficiently in bringing our vision to life: a modern, full-service Sikorsky Credit Union branch in the heart of Fairfield.”
