Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro will host a forum Thursday for the county’s third largest employers: the agricultural industry.
The second annual Agriculture Advisory Committee Forum is scheduled for at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. It will feature more than 50 local farmers, elected officials and representatives from the agriculture industry.
The agriculture industry contributes $50 million to the Dutchess County economy, according to a press release from the county executive’s office. The forum will provide a look at the state of agriculture in the county, including the announcement of a new Agricultural Navigator program and updates on several farmland preservation projects, including six farms awarded funding through Dutchess County”™s Partnership for Manageable Growth.
The event is happening prior to the opening of the fair, so attendees must register by 2 p.m. on Aug. 24. Click here to register and for more information.Â
