Westport-based JoyRide Cycling & Fitness Studio is opening its seventh location in May, taking over a location formerly occupied by SHiFT Cycling.
“The fitness and cycling community in New Haven is strong and infused with enthusiasm, which is perfectly aligned with our outlook and brand strategy,” said JoyRide CEO Becky Cerroni. “We look forward to getting to know all of our new riders, as well as collaborating with the businesses and organizations that embody the strong spirit of New Haven.”
The new studio ”“ which joins four in Fairfield County (Darien, Ridgefield, Westport and Wilton) and two in San Antonio ”“ is near the New Haven green, Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital. The cycling studio is equipped with 32 Schwinn AC Performance Plus bikes with Carbon Blue, locker rooms, showers and blow dry stations.
JoyRide”™s owners, which in addition to Cerroni include Amy Hochhauser and Rhodie Lorenz, said they will allow SHiFT members to transfer their credits to JoyRide, and will offer special introductory discounts for new members.
Earlier this year JoyRide said it hoped to open six to 12 new studios over the next three years.
“Our brand culture is strong, and we’re committed to inspiring our riders to live big joyful lives ”“ both in and outside of the studio,” Hochhauser said.
