The Board of Directors of Groundwork Hudson Valley has appointed Karin Sosis as its new executive director, effective immediately. Sosis is a sustainability expert with more than 20 years of experience working with government and business on climate policy reform and clean energy market development.
A native of New Rochelle, Sosis has worked in Africa for 15 years in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change adaptation, energy access and financing, regenerative agriculture, green infrastructure and environmental justice. In the African context, as well as in the U.S., these challenges are intertwined with issues of social equity, access to finance and economic opportunity.
Alongside dedicated staff, partners and the board, Sosis is excited to continue building Groundwork Hudson Valley’s work toward vibrant, resilient communities.
