Demonstrating her commitment to professional development among her industry peers, Kayla Hannemann, account executive at public relations and marketing firm Impact PR & Communications Ltd., has been elected secretary and treasurer of the board of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Westchester/Fairfield chapter, the nation’s largest community of public relations and communications professionals, committed to advancing the field of public relations.
The newly elected leaders, including Hannemann, will serve on a seven-member board alongside previously elected members, including Kate Wark, executive vice president at Impact PR & Communications, who has held an active leadership role within PRSA’s Westchester/Fairfield chapter for the past four years.
“Kayla getting more deeply involved in PRSA is in line with our agency’s dedication to professional development at all levels and to nurturing career paths and high ethical standards for practitioners within Westchester and Fairfield counties,” said Wark. “Her contributions and fresh energy make her a fantastic addition to the board.”
Always eager to connect with the Hudson Valley community, Hannemann has co-presented for Dutchess Tourism’s popular Lunch & Learn series, hosted an interactive workshop on social media for the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) and Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, and delivered presentations for United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region and Dutchess Tourism this winter. Hannemann is a Marist University graduate with a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications.
The Westchester/Fairfield Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), founded in 1965, is the local chapter of the world’s largest public relations professional association and the largest organization in the region dedicated to advancing the public relations field. The chapter provides professional development and relationship-building opportunities in Westchester and Fairfield counties. It also supports the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapters at Iona University and at Marist University.
