On Dec. 3, industry leaders, innovators and professionals came together at the BioInc@NYMC Biotechnology Incubator to celebrate Westchester County as a hub for life sciences innovation and growth. Hosted by Westchester County, the Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator (WCBA), and Builds Bio+, the event featured representatives from WMCHealth, Laronix, Quadrus Medical Technologies, Cognition Therapeutics, BJH Advisors LLC and the WCBA.
Deborah Novick, Westchester County’s director of entrepreneurship and innovation, explained how 160 life science companies in the county have generated $20 billion in economic activity over the past 10 years.
“Right here in Westchester, we have 20% of the private sector life sciences workforce in the state,” she said during the event. “We’re working very hard to help nurture more entities.”
