Mid-Hudson News, an online news resource covering the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions, has been acquired by former State Sen. Mike Martucci.
Martucci was the founder of Quality Bus Service and a former president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association who represented the 42nd district of the New York State Senate as a Republican from Jan. 1, 2021, to Dec. 31, 2022. He will take on the role of publisher of Mid-Hudson News, which was founded in 2000 by Hank Gross, who will stay on as editor.
“Of all the investments I have made during my business career, this is the one I am most excited about,” said Martucci in a statement on the Mid-Hudson News”™ site. “During my time in Albany, I saw how critical it is to keep the public informed in a fair and honest manner. No other news outlet has done that more consistently or closer to home than Mid-Hudson News.”
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed and Martucci pledged “not to change our content but to take the platform to the next level while keeping the same team in place and staying true to its original mission.”
