Apple Bank has announced the opening of a new branch in Hartsdale Monday, Aug. 4, further expanding the bank’s footprint in Westchester County.
The branch — at 227 N. Central Ave., in the Westchester Square Shopping Center, anchored by Best Buy and Trader Joe’s — is designed to offer convenient access to banking services for local resident and small business foot traffic.
Hartsdale will join Apple Bank’s network of more than 75 locations across Westchester County and the greater New York area, including Rockland County, New York City and New Jersey.
“Our continued growth in Westchester reflects our long-standing commitment to the communities we serve,” said James Matera, senior executive vice president and chief retail banking officer at Apple Bank. “Hartsdale and its tightly knit community are a natural fit for Apple Bank’s relationship-based service philosophy, and we look forward to welcoming and serving customers in the Hartsdale area.”
Established in 1863, Apple Bank is the largest state-chartered savings bank in New York state, with $17.5 billion in assets and $14.5 billion in deposits as of Dec. 31. It is a full-service institution with consumer, small business, commercial and investment products and services delivered by bankers who live in the communities they serve.
To support the new location, Tania Bello will serve as vice president and branch manager. Hired in 2024 as the manager of the Thornwood branch, Bello brings more than 14 years of experience to the bank. She is known for her commitment to customer service excellence, small business relationship management and building partnerships in the community.
She will be joined by Thomas Papaioannou, assistant branch manager, who has been with Apple Bank for five years. A graduate of Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, Papaioannou, is passionate about delivering a five-star banking experience to the customers he serves. He is active in the community, providing financial literacy training at local schools and volunteering for food drives and programs that support the homeless and underserved.
