REPEAT WINNERS

MARTY RUTBERG, head of the law firm Rutberg Basso Personal Injury Law in Poughkeepsie, has been named one of New York state”™s “super lawyers” for the upstate region for the sixth consecutive year.

GARDINER “TAD” BARONE, of the Goshen-based law firm, Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, was named to the list in the field of business litigation for the second year in a row.

The magazine”™s selection process uses nominations and evaluations received from practicing attorneys combined with third-party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Attorneys earning the highest point totals in each area of practice are named to the Super Lawyers”™ list. Selections are made each year on a state-by-state basis.

BREAST CENTER DESIGNATION

NYACK HOSPITAL BREAST CENTER, 160 N. Midland Ave., Nyack, has once again been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

Patricia Joseph, MD, director of breast and women”™s health services at the hospital said, “Receiving this accreditation is a testament to the dedication of our team at The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. It is about each and every patient we serve and our role in ensuring that they have access to the highest quality and most compassionate care available.”

CHAZEN STAFFERS HONORED

PAUL CUMMINGS and ANDY RYMPH, members of the planning and landscape architecture staff of The Chazen Cos. in Poughkeepsie have been awarded the National Charrette Institutes (NCI) Charrette System Certification.

“The Chazen Companies is committed to helping its clients and communities solve problems by developing sustainable solutions through an open and collaborative process,” said Chazen President Mark Kastner. “The NCI Charrette System training is one component of Chazen”™s commitment to this goal.”

Cummings joined Chazen in 2007 and has successfully led a variety of community planning and revitalization projects at its office in Queensbury. He holds a master”™s degree in urban and regional planning in environmental planning and community development from SUNY Albany and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Siena College.

Rymph joined the company in 2004 and is the director of landscape architecture and an associate for the company”™s Capital District office in Troy, where he leads park planning, site design and landscape architecture projects. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia”™s School of Environmental Design.

NEW TRUSTEES NAMED

THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS OF THE HUDSON VALLEY has announced its newly elected officers and board of trustees for the 2013-14 fiscal year. The officers and trustees represent all regions of the Community Foundations service area and are chosen for their expertise in matching resources with new challenges and opportunities.

The newly elected officers of the foundation are:

ELANT ADDS BOARD MEMBER

ELANT, a health care system providing senior health and housing solutions in the Hudson Valley, recently welcomed DENISE DORING VANBUREN to its board of directors.

VanBuren, a media and public relations specialist with an extensive background in broadcasting and public service, served as an anchor at several media companies in Orange and Duchess counties before accepting a position with Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. in 1993. She was named an officer of the corporation in 1998 and currently she serves as the corporate secretary and vice president of public relations.

VanBuren has a master”™s degree in business administration from Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh and has authored three books.

“We are thrilled to add such an accomplished and illustrious professional to our board,” said Donna Cornell, Elant board chairperson.

NEW MEMBERS AT LEADERSHIP ORANGE

LEADERSHIP ORANGE BOARD OF DIRECTORS added eight members and named four to director emeritus at its recent annual meeting.

The new directors are PETE BERMAN, CEO of the Ruby Group; SARAH BROSNAN, marketing coordinator for the Orange County Partnership; MICHAEL LIMPEROPULOS, director of marketing and public relations for the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center; FRED MILLS, assistant vice president of Commercial Lending for Walden Savings Bank; JUAN PANETO, assistant vice president manager and small business development for TD Bank; GINNY RIZZO, vice president of Rizzo Moving & Rigging;

JONATHAN SCHILLER, chief operating officer of Orange Regional Medical Center; and MARK TROCINO, director of marketing for Crystal Run Healthcare.

Directors emeritus are SUSAN HAWVERMALE, CHARLES FARO, DAN O”™BRIEN and JOYCE STOEBERL.

“As our organization begins its 21st year of leadership programs, we continue to evaluate our policies, procedures and sessions. I expect that these new board members will bring a fresh look and new insight to our discussions. BANK NAMES COMPLIANCE OFFICER

CAROL GOODWINE has recently joined Ulster Savings Bank in Kingston as assistant vice president and compliance officer at its Kingston headquarters.

Goodwine is a 30-year banking veteran with specific expertise in the areas of regulatory compliance, bank security and bank secrecy/anti-money laundering. In her new position, she will be responsible for handling regulatory compliance reviews, remaining updated on all regulatory changes and any compliance research and training initiatives. She is a recipient of the Certified Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Professional designation from the Independent Community Bankers of America, a national trade association that provides education programs exclusively to meet the needs of community bankers.

THREE NAMED TO VASSAR BROTHERS BOARD

KIMBERLY HUNT LEE, KIP BLEAKLEY O”™NEILL and STAN BEINSTEIN joined the Board of the Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie as trustees and will work toward achieving the foundation”™s mission of raising awareness and securing philanthropic support for the extensive health care services, technology and expertise available at the center.

Lee, an attorney with McCabe and Mack, has served as a board member for Hospice Inc. and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as extensive participation in a number of community organizations.

O”™Neill, a resident of Poughkeepsie and former minority leader with the Dutchess County Legislature, has served as a longtime member of the Dutchess Community College Board of Trustees, as well as the Board of Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill.

Beinstein, a resident of Pleasant Valley, is a marketing consultant and former vice president for sales and marketing at Radio Woodstock. His leadership roles have included board service with the Jewish Community Center of Dutchess County and Dutchess County Stadium Corp.

WEICHERT”™S TOP ASSOCIATES

THERESE SEARLE of the LaGrange office of Weichert Realtors and YEKATERINA “KATYA” ANDRIYEVSKY of the New City office were individually recognized for their exceptional industry success during the month of July. Searle led the region, which is composed of offices throughout Orange, Westchester and Rockland counties, in resale of revenue units, while Andriyevsky led in resales, said Jo Ellen Ashby, regional vice president, Weichert Realtors.
