Northwell Health ”“ the recently renamed North Shore-LIJ Health System ”“ is expanding its presence in Westchester County in a joint venture with GoHealth Urgent Care to open urgent care centers in three communities here this month.
The partners on Feb. 24th will open walk-in care centers at 77 Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle, 650 White Plains Road in Tarrytown, and 28 Triangle Center in Yorktown Heights. The facilities will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.
GoHealth Urgent Care is a subsidiary of Access Clinical Partners, a 4-year-old company headquartered in Atlanta. The company and North Shore-LIJ in late 2014 announced a joint venture to open 50 GoHealth Urgent Care centers throughout the metropolitan area over three years. The partners ended 2015 with 18 clinics operating in Long Island, Manhattan and Queens and plan to open at least 20 more centers this year, according to GoHealth.
The company said the urgent care centers provide “community-based medical care with concierge-level service” that is integrated with Northwell Health”™s electronic health records and metropolitan system of hospitals and physicians and includes mobile check-in and car rides to and from GoHealth clinics through a partnership with Uber.
The state”™s largest private employer, Northwell Health in 2014 acquired Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow and Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.
I just saw the sign for the Yorktown location today. We’ve now got 4 urgent care centers either recently open or opening soon in maybe a 10 mile radius. Sounds like too many to me.
