Workers in Westchester have until April 15 to team up to compete in the second annual Ex-STEP-tional Challenge, a countywide walking competition from May 2 to May 26 presented by White Plains Hospital.
Workplaces across the county can form 5-member teams, and larger workplaces may have multiple teams. Teams will compete to see who can take the greatest number of steps throughout the challenge.
Participation is free of charge and the community hospital will provide teams with free pedometers to track their steps. The hospital will hold an awards luncheon on June 23 to recognize the winners.
Registration is open through Friday at wphospital.org/exsteptional.
Pedometers can be picked up at four locations: White Plains Hospital at 41 E. Post Road; White Plains Hospital Medical and Wellness at 99 Business Park Drive in Armonk; White Plains Hospital Women”™s Imaging Center at 90 S. Ridge St. in Rye Brook, or White Plains Hospital Physician Associates at 1296 North Ave. in the Wykagyl shopping center in New Rochelle.
More than 610 walkers and 122 teams joined last year in the first Ex-STEP-tional Challenge. Participants are encouraged to post photos and updates on their progress on social media using the hash tag #wphexsteptional.
