Direct Eats in Wilton, a growing e-commerce startup specializing in the distribution of organic, natural and specialty food products has announced the acquisition of a Chicago-based competitor, Abe”™s Market, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded by David Hack in 2014, the online specialty food marketplace launched to the public in 2015 and allows consumers to search for specialty non-perishable items by product, diet, taste, origin, and ingredients. The company reports significant growth with the average order increasing by more than 50 percent and visits to DirectEats.com rising by nearly 138 percent.

The move is expected to contribute a significant amount of fiscal growth to Direct Eats and to grow its social media channels by hundreds of thousands, according to the company.
