NEW HAVEN — Starting June 17, passengers traveling through Tweed-New Haven Airport will have access to Uber as part of the airport’s authorized rideshare options, the airport announced Monday.
Uber joins Lyft as an active rideshare provider at Tweed. Operating agreements with rideshare providers allow airports to establish designated pickup and drop-off locations and set standards that support safe, organized, and efficient operations for passengers, drivers, and surrounding communities.
The addition of Uber follows ongoing discussions with local and state leaders regarding transportation access and reflects the airport’s efforts to improve connectivity for passengers while supporting more organized traffic patterns around the airport.
“Expanding transportation options for passengers is an important part of improving the overall travel experience at Tweed-New Haven Airport,” said Michael Jones, CEO of The New HVN. “Adding Uber as an available option represents another step forward as we continue building a more accessible, customer-focused airport that gives travelers greater flexibility in how they reach their destination.”
Uber is thrilled to serve Tweed airport.
“Airports are where journeys begin and end, and we are proud to help provide travelers with a seamless door-to-door experience,” said Katie Franger, a public affairs official at Uber. “We look forward to working closely with the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority and The New HVN to enhance transportation options and make the travel experience even smoother for passengers and visitors alike.”
The move reflects the airport’s broader commitment to strengthening infrastructure and improving the passenger journey through practical investments and service enhancements. Airport officials said the addition of Uber is part of a larger focus on delivering more choices for travelers while supporting the airport’s continued growth as a regional transportation hub.
“This is another example of the progress underway at HVN,” said Robert Reed, Chair of the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority. “Providing additional travel alternatives is about giving passengers more control, more convenience, and more ways to connect, all while continuing to build on the momentum and milestones we have achieved.”
