San Diego-based Paramount Transportation Systems is opening an office in Fairfield.
Paramount will lease 2,794 square feet at One Post Road in Fairfield. The specialty moving company will move into a location that sits on the gap between Fairfield and Bridgeport. Paramount specializes in the international relocation of household goods, vehicles and pets for corporate employees and has offices in New York, Boston, Houston and Germany. The company could not be reached for comment.
Last year, a full renovation was completed at the building, a three-story, 30,400-square-foot Class A office building. According to the real estate company, Angel Commercial Real Estate in Fairfield, only two spaces remain on the second floor, which are comprised of 1,872 square feet and 4,543 square feet respectively, which can be combined for a larger tenant.
Paramount Transportation Systems will be joining other tenants in the building on the Bridgeport city line, including The Adult Day and Outpatient Therapy Services Unit of the Jewish Home for the Elderly, Mortgage Masters and the law firm of Quatrella & Rizio.
“The uptick in recent market activity is encouraging,” said Jon Angel president of Angel Commercial. “Landlords, who have been reinvesting in properties through extensive renovation as seen at One Post Road, are reaping the benefits of increased interest and strong tenant retention and tenants are finding now to be an opportune time to expand.”
Paul Timpanelli, president and chief executive officer of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, said Paramount Transportation”™s commitment to the area as a vote of confidence in the corporate sector.
“It shows optimism,” Timpanelli said. “Their business functions only when there’s expansion.”
He said a company such as Paramount Transportation thrives on corporate relocations and Fairfield County remains a strong center for that.
