Dr. Paul K. Maloney Jr., a Fairfield resident who was the former chief of staff of Norwalk Hospital, died July 1 of cancer. He was 72.
The urologist was president-elect of the Connecticut State Medical Society and past president of the Fairfield County Medical Association.
Maloney established the Frank J. Scallon Medical Foundation, named for a former patient who was an inventor, to provide awards to physicians who develop new techniques to care for patients.
The Connecticut State Medical Society has established a service award in Maloney”™s name for physicians demonstrating devotion to community service.
Maloney was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen, and three children.
