The Stamford Innovation Center opened for business Nov. 1 following extensive renovations, and is offering free co-working space for workers displaced by Tropical Storm Sandy.
Headquartered at the Old Town Hall at 175 Atlantic St. in downtown Stamford, the Stamford Innovation Center, or iCenter, was launched as a business incubator for startups and technology firms, and offers co-working space and educational and mentoring opportunities to resident companies.
The iCenter is one of four hubs selected by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to pilot the Connecticut Innovation Ecosystem initiative.
“We are honored to be chosen as one of the four locations that will serve as a nexus to provide education, mentoring, financial, technical and professional support to entrepreneurs as well as collaborative workspace and events geared toward startup companies,” said Barry Schwimmer, founder and managing partner of the iCenter, in a prepared statement.
