The state of Connecticut received nearly $33 million from its two Native American-operated casinos in April.
Foxwoods Resort Casino reported to the state Division of Special Revenue a net slot win of $65.2 million in April, with a $16.3 million contribution to the state.
Mohegan Sun reported a net slot win of $73.8 million, with a $19 million contribution to the state.
Both tribes have a gaming compact with Connecticut to pay the state 25 percent of total slot revenues.
Slot revenue was down for both casinos: Foxwoods saw a $2.2 million decrease in net slot earnings last month compared with April 2006. Mohegan Sun also had a similar decrease in slot revenue over the same time period.
During the month of April, an average of 7,202 slot machines were in play at Foxwoods, 638 more than the 6,564 available in April 2006.
Mohegan Sun had an average of 5,969 machines in play, down from the 6,202 available in April of last year.
