Greenwich-based Burgers, Shakes & Fries is expanding its presence in the county with a new restaurant in Darien.
The 2,350-square-foot space in Darien will be the eatery”™s second restaurant in Fairfield County, following the original 20-seat Greenwich location.
At Burgers, Shakes & Fries, burgers are served on thick, toasted bread instead of a traditional bun. Owner Kory Wollins, a Cornell graduate and 15-year hospitality veteran, said his idea was to provide customers with “great food, great prices and a fun, funky atmosphere.”
Wollins is working with Glazer Construction & Development on the new restaurant, which will fill the site of the former Bruegger”™s.
“He”™s got a great eye for detail and knows how to really make these things come alive,” said Wollins. “This is going to be about comfort, but we also want to keep a certain rough appeal.”
