Free Friday night music is back! The Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District is excited to announce the return of Yonkers Waterfront Live, a beloved summer tradition that brings people together through the love of music. The performances are scheduled to take place (rain or shine!) from June 6th to August 15th, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. This year, a diverse blend of music genres will be featured, including Soul, Roots, Latin, Jazz, and more. The concerts will be held as always at the Waterfront Amphitheater, 71 Water Grant Street, Yonkers, NY.
This year’s musical lineup features artists with distinct styles, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The concert series kicks off with a Cuban Band, La Charanga Pacha. Miguelito “Pacha” Pozo, originally from Cuba, is a performer known for sharing the stage with many Latin music icons, including Tito Puente, Charanga America, Ray Baretto, and many more. With his band, La Charanga Pacha, they are keeping the Charanga tradition alive. Miguelito was given The David Melendez Award at the Congress of Lifetime Commitment to Latin Music.
Another notable performer in this lineup is Antwon Robinson, a singer and songwriter who is also the bandleader of the Soul Experience, a cover band. Additionally, Antwon was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for the movie August Rush and the song Raise It Up. He has also shared a stage with legends like Prince, Nile Rodgers, and more.
Starting the August lineup is the band Hot Toddies. Hot Toddies is a Jazz Band established right before the COVID pandemic. Their music is a mix of jazz and swing, and they are known as one of the top swing bands in New York City. Additionally, during the summer of 2023, they were the headliners for the outdoor swing dance at Lincoln Center, performing for over 2,000 people.
As always, admission for these excellent performances is free. Below is the full concert lineup for June, July, and August.
