Westchester County’s Annual Senior Pool Party & Barbecue

Seniors can get ready to dive into summer fun at Westchester County’s Annual Senior Pool Party & Barbecue on Wednesday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Saxon Woods Pool. Hosted by the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services (DSPS) in partnership with Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation, this lively summertime celebration invites Westchester County residents age 60 and older to enjoy a special day filled with swimming, music, great food, games and socializing with friends and neighbors.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Our Annual Senior Pool Party & Barbecue is one of the highlights of the summer — a chance for older adults from across Westchester to come together, stay active, enjoy the outdoors and make lasting memories. We are proud to offer events like this that celebrate community, connection, and healthy living for our seniors.”

DSPS Commissioner Mae Carpenter said: “This event continues to bring Westchester’s older adults together to celebrate the beginning of summer in a healthy and fun way with swimming, dancing, socializing and enjoying a barbecue lunch with old and new friends alike.”

With the pool closed to the public for the season, participants will have the pool for their exclusive use and can also enjoy free shuffleboard, mini golf and fitness classes. Entertainment will be provided by the band, Soul Machine.

Admission and parking for the event are also free; park passes are not required for this program. Space is limited and registration is required to receive a barbecue lunch, which will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The deadline to register is Friday, June 5.
