Wainwright House to Host Annual Benefit: “Rooted in Community” Honoring Local Changemakers with an Evening of Celebration, Connection, and Purpose
Against a backdrop of the sun setting over Milton Harbor, Wainwright House will host its highly anticipated annual benefit, “Rooted in Community,” on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6:00–8:30 PM. The festive evening promises to gather friends, neighbors, and changemakers for an inspiring night under the tent at one of Westchester’s most beloved historic landmarks.
This year’s benefit will honor local leaders who have made meaningful contributions to community life, wellness, and environmental stewardship including Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker, and Tracy Stora, Chairperson of the Conservation Commission Advisory Council for the City of Rye.
“We are pleased to honor these champions of our community,” says Lexy Tomaino, President of the Board of Trustees. “Their commitment inspires us all to engage more deeply.”
Guests will enjoy artfully prepared seasonal bites by Bartleby & Sage, live music by Triptych Wave, and the uplifting energy that comes from gathering on Wainwright’s historic five-acre grounds, featuring organic gardens and stunning views of the Marshland Conservancy.

Rooted in Mission
For more than seventy years, Wainwright House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to enhancing connection, learning, and growth through excellence in programming and community events. Contributions raised during the benefit will directly support initiatives and sustain the mansion and grounds for generations to come..
In 2024, Wainwright introduced new community programs such as Keepers of the Labyrinth and a popular Mah Jong series, further strengthening community connections. As new programs and events are added to the calendar, Wainwright House is becoming known as a refuge from the demands of daily life, offering learning, connection and quiet time in nature.
“Wainwright is more than a building — it’s a place for people to connect, discover, and grow,” adds Tomaino.
Founded in 1951, Wainwright House is the oldest nonprofit holistic learning center in the United States. Located in Rye, NY, Wainwright offers a diverse range of programming rooted in personal growth, social responsibility, and community wellness. The historic house and grounds provide a serene setting for workshops, events, classes, and private functions — all in service of inspiring positive change.
