Celebrate America, support local music, and kick off your July 4th weekend with Bookends Band at the Brewster Summer Music Series! BSMS continues its exciting 2025 season with a special pre–holiday weekend celebration featuring the debut performance of the Bookends Band on Wednesday, July 2, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Southeast Veterans Park Gazebo, located at the corner of Railroad and Morningthorpe Avenues in Brewster Village.
The Bookends Band, one of Westchester’s premier acts, is known for its soulful mix of classic rock gems, rare covers, and compelling original songs. With a loyal fan base, the band is bringing its powerful energy and signature harmonies to Putnam County for the first time — and the BSMS team is thrilled to welcome them. Founded in 1976 by Pelham natives Chris Brown and Joe Summo as a folk duo, the group evolved into a full-scale rock band that became a staple on the local college circuit. Today, Bookends Band features four gifted lead vocalists and a lineup of seasoned musicians who deliver a versatile, emotion-packed show that spans decades and genres.
The current Bookends Band lineup includes:
- Christopher Brown – Guitar, Vocals
- Lou Bellofatto – Keyboards, Vocals
- Artie Dillon – Lead Guitar, Vocals
- Mike Marble – Drums, Vocals
- Jim Clark – Saxophone
- Seth Glassman – Bass
Now in its fifth season, the Cultural Arts Coalition’s Brewster Summer Music Series offers free, high-quality live music to the community — made possible through the generous support of local business sponsors and individual donors.
As always, concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy the show in this scenic outdoor setting. The evening will also feature food from Carmel Creamery, community tables, and the ever-popular 50/50 raffle.
