Bulls of Wall Street: High Finance, Power, and Social Change in Victorian America

On Sept. 4, 2025, 12-4 p.m. The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will open a new exhibition titled, “Bulls of Wall Street: High Finance, Power, and Social Change in Victorian America.”
The exhibition will feature rare and never-before-seen period artifacts, photos, documents, and costumes from public and private collections. Attached please find a press release and three images with captions and credits.

The first Wall Street stock brokerage owned by women opened February 5, 1870, by Ohio-born sisters Victoria Claflin Woodhull and Tennessee Claflin, and was funded by Cornelius “Commodore” Vanderbilt.
