GREENWICH – Sky Leasing LLC, a leading alternative investment manager with extensive experience in aviation investments, has leased 5,576 square-feet of space on the first floor of the historic home of the former Greenwich Trust Co.
CBRE brokerage firm completed the leasing transaction at the iconic 240 Greenwich Ave, building in the heart of Greenwich’s business district. The CBRE team of David Block and Robert Crane was recently appointed as the property’s exclusive leasing agents and represented the owners Fareri Associates in the lease negotiations.
Jarod Stern of Savills represented Sky Leasing in the negotiations.
The building, which dates back to 1916, was the headquarters of Greenwich Trust until Bank of America purchased it after its merger with NationsBank in 1998.
“240 Greenwich Ave. presents a truly exceptional opportunity, offering premier office space on the prestigious Greenwich Avenue, in one of the most desirable office markets in the country,” Block said. “Sky’s decision to open a new office here was driven by the property’s best-in-class interiors, fully modernized infrastructure, and unbeatable location”
240 Greenwich includes a large contiguous block of available space and flexible floor plans.
The property has undergone a completed makeover including upgrades to the lobby, elevators, restrooms, and new mechanical and fire alarm systems. Among its most unique features is a 33-foot high domed ceiling on the second floor.
Currently, a housing project called J.Lofts at West Elm is slated for the Bank of America parking lot. The town’s Historic District Commission late last year approved the concept overall and endorsed a proposal for the property to be within a “Historic Overlay Zone,” according to the Greenwich Time.
Up to 30,000 square feet of contiguous space can still be made available, with approximately 15,000 square feet. in the historic portion of the building. In addition, an 1,887 square-foot spec suite is being constructed alongside the Sky space, with availability in early 2026.
