Westport Country Playhouse Tees Up Golf Tournament on June 15

Mahjong and canasta added to the fundraising day at Birchwood Country Club.

Westport Country Playhouse will host its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament, along with the inaugural Mahjong and Canasta Tournaments, at Birchwood Country Club, 25 Kings Highway South, in Westport, on Monday, June 15. Proceeds will benefit the Playhouse.

Golf tournament registration, beginning at 7:30 a.m., includes 9-holes or 18-holes of golf at Birchwood Country Club; light breakfast, buffet lunch, cocktails, on-course drinks, and afternoon reception; cart rental; full access to club locker room and facilities, driving range, and practice putting green; and on-course contests to win Playhouse season tickets and pro shop credit.

Mahjong and canasta tournaments registration, beginning at 9:30 a.m., includes a light breakfast, buffet lunch, cocktails, and afternoon reception — plus the chance to win Playhouse season tickets and other prizes. Bring your own foursome and set up your table, or arrive as a pair or solo and you’ll be matched with others.

Birchwood Country Club has 83 acres of rolling countryside, providing a challenging and beautiful nine-hole layout. When playing 18 holes, several sets of tees offer different angles and look for players of all skill levels.  The original Orrin Smith design features tightly cut fairways lined by dense rough and velvet-bent grass used on the putting surface.
