An early morning storm that blew through Connecticut with winds of more than 60 mph has left thousands of residents without electricity.
Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) reported roughly 61,600 of its customers, or 4 percent, were affected by the storm, with the majority of power outages occurring in Glastonbury, Montville and Westport. CL&P serves roughly 1.2 million customers in the state.
The United Illuminating Co. reported about 12,200 of its customers were effected. Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford and North Branford were among the towns hardest hit.
