With electricity restored to all of its customers whose homes and businesses were not precluded from having power restored due to severe damage, Connecticut Light & Power said several dozen of its employees would join efforts in New York.
Approximately 60 CL&P line workers, mechanics, supervisors and safety professionals, as well as 200 Hydro Quebec line workers who had been assisting CL&P crews, are headed to New York and possibly to New Jersey, the utility said.
“Thousands of workers from across the country came to Connecticut to help us restore power to our customers, and now we’re ready to lend a hand and help other utilities in their time of need,” said Bill Herdegen, CL&P president and COO.
CL&P said that “ample” crews remain in Connecticut, working to restore the approximately 500 customers affected by Wednesday night’s nor’easter and any new outages.
The company said it is also continuing to work with those customers whose homes or businesses were so badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy that electric service could not be restored.
