Stamford-based real estate development company Building and Land Technology recently unveiled Beacon Harbor Point, a 21-story luxury rental apartment building in the Harbor Point neighborhood of Stamford.
Stamford Mayor David Martin and BLT CEO Carl R. Kuehner III held a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 9 for the building, which is on Harbor Point Road and overlooks Stamford Harbor.
Beacon Harbor Point features studio, one- and two-bedroom rentals. On its website, BLT says Beacon Harbor Point offers a pool, outdoor grilling, a health club and yoga studio, a private dining room, game room, study and concierge services.
The building also has two rooftop observatory decks.
Harbor Point, on the South End of Stamford, has is in recent years been developed as a residential and commercial center along Stamford Harbor. Beacon Harbor Point joins several other Harbor Point residences, including the Vault Apartments on Towne Street and the Postmark Apartments on Commons Park South.
Building and Land Technology CEO Carl R. Kuehner III and the fan fair openings with our Mayor, wow it looks fantastic! Except the real story is that Carl R. Kuehner III pollutes our waterways with the foam not being controlled during construction of these buildings, just one of the many short cuts to cut costs… (see Advocate below)… BLT also pollutes our air with their idling Mack trucks and has also been shut down for serious labor violations and hiring of minors as well as stop work orders. Our safe sound water and community are compromised by greed and money…
State of CT Labor dept, Mr.Pechie, says his unit continuously investigates work sites at Harbor Point, the 80-acre, $3.5 billion remake of Stamford’s South End by developer Building and Land Technology (aka BLT). In an unprecedented move last year, state and federal labor officials swept three Harbor Point construction sites. “BLT contractors, putting up the massive Harbor Point development, have been hit with at least 34 stop-work orders from 2010 to 2012 alone.”
So the question is who will be paying $5,000 for a rental apartment in Stamford at the newly opened Beacon… this will be another empty building that will stand in Harbor Point untill it is sold to an unknowing buyer for an exorbitant amount of money. Here is just one of the lawsuits that has been filed from a new “Harbor Point” apartment building buyer who was not notified of serious fire safety issues when it was purchased. Buyers and renters should do a thorough research before buying a building or renting in Harbor Point buildings. Below are local news articles regarding these and other issues.
