A Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. affiliate was awarded a $327 million contract for maritime helicopter repairs over the next year, with the large majority of the work slated for Sikorsky”™s Stratford plant.
The Pentagon awarded the contract to Maritime Helicopter Support Co., a Woodbridge, Va.-based joint venture between Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md.
The work largely involves maintenance of the airframes and avionics of U.S. Navy Seahawk helicopters, along with related models used by the U.S. Coast Guard and the governments of Australia, Greece, Spain, Thailand and Taiwan. Some work will also take place at Lockheed Martin”™s plant in Owego, N.Y.
