The eyewear retailer Warby Parker is set to open its second location in Westchester on Nov. 22, according to a spokesperson for the company. The opening originally had been announced for Nov. 15. The store is at Ridge Hill in Yonkers with an address of 43 Cole St. Warby Parker already has a store at The Westchester in White Plains.
Warby said that the opening in Yonkers is part of its retail expansion in New York City and surrounding areas. The company has nine stores in New York City. It also has stores in Greenwich, Darien and Norwalk. As of the end of this year’s third quarter the firm had 313 retail stores.

A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission showed that Warby Parker for 2024 had net revenue of $771.3 million, a gross profit of $426.8 million, and a net loss of $20.4 million.
The company was founded by four friends at the Wharton Business School: Neil Blumenthal; Dave Gilboa; Andy Hun;, and Jeff Raider. The intent was to operate as an online eyeglass retailer. They were inundated with orders and soon started opening brick and mortar stores.
The company has a program under which for every pair of glasses sold a pair is distributed to someone in need. It says that in 2024 more than 20 million pairs of glasses had been distributed through its Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program. As part of the giveaway program, through what’s called the Pupils Project, more than 290,000 pairs of glasses have been distributed to schoolchildren in the U.S.
Warby Parker says that its Yonkers location will feature a full assortment of glasses and sunglasses for adults and children as well as contact lenses, accessories and eye examinations.
