The accounting firms of Beers, Hamerman & Co. PC in New Haven and Cohen, Burger, Schwartz & Sax LLC in Fairfield merged this month to form Beers, Hamerman, Cohen & Burger PC.
The new firm will maintain offices at 234 Church St., New Haven, and at 2228 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. In a statement, it listed services to a client base of individuals, small businesses and large corporations that included accounting, audit and assurance services; tax preparation and planning; business advising; business valuations; litigation support and forensic accounting; and estate and trust services.
The expanded firm serves clients throughout Connecticut and New York. “While the scope of services and the geographic reach may be expanding, both firms ensure the same personal relationship and responsiveness to their clients,” the firms said in a statement.
“This merger will allow us to expand the resources and expertise we offer to our clients, while maintaining the same personal relationships and high quality of service that we have provided in the past,” said David Migani, who has been managing partner of Beers, Hamerman & Co. for the last 20 years.
Edward Burger, who has served as managing partner of Cohen, Burger, Schwartz & Sax for 28 years, said, “Our firms share common cultures and a commitment to providing superior service and expertise to our clients. We look forward to building upon our individual successes to create a firm with a more powerful regional focus and an even broader array of capabilities and expertise to better serve our clients.”
